Welcome to Pinkyfit

Hello and welcome to Pinkyfit321, the blog exploring how to live a healthy life in today’s world. This space is all about fitness, food, fun with a lil side of family thrown in from time to time. My name is Mikaela, but I also answer to the nickname Pinky (obviously given for my love of a gorgeous color). I’m passionate about fitness and want to help you uncap your potential in the gym, outside, inside and find the fitness groove that works for you.

Currently I am working on my National Academy of Sports Medicine certification in hopes of pursing a job in personal training. I am certified in multiple Les Mills group fitness formats [BODYATTACK, BODYCOMBAT, BODYPUMP, SPRINT] and teach these and BARRE ABOVE classes at multiple Gold’s Gyms in my area. Group fitness brings me a high every single class and I truly believe the fitness magic members create finding their healthiest self.

My second love is food and I am all about eating healthy good tasting food. Every BODY is different so what works for me might now work for you, but the base of a healthy lifestyle is eating more whole foods than processed foods. My  husband and I have dabbled in WHOLE30, macro counting, IFing and are still trying to find the balance that works for us as a team and individually. Diet fads and quick fixes bombard our senses daily so it is crucial to do your research before committing to the ‘next big thing’.

Life is meant to be lived which means I’m also all about having fun. I consider fitness fun, but don’t let it keep me from living my life. I grew up playing multiple sports then decided to direct all efforts towards soccer and ended up a scholarship athlete in college. Upon graduation I joined multiple coed teams and it wasn’t until our move that I stopped playing. I met my husband (another college athlete, much better than me) playing in a kickball league and we continue to still play on a team together. We like to travel, go to fine dining restaurants, hike, cook and hang out with friends old and new.

Thanks for reading and I hope you’ll come back and join me as we further our knowledge to find our best fitness. Feel free to reach out here in comments and I’ll do my best to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Now, 3, 2, 1, get your move on!

  1. You forgot to mention how amazing you are. And that you can still high kick better than 99% of the population. Well… I guess that’s what the photo is for? PROUD OF YOU!
